Adli, Volume 35: May 11, 2014

Adli loves photo bombing. So, here's one for you (and a good one at that!)
A busy, but very accomplished week. This week we have shown our best work on the MAP Reading and Math tests. Also we've completed notes and research on our individual artifacts. Our Publisher pages are coming together during Technology class with Mr. H. We wrote an introduction for our Publisher page this week and used persuasive and personal language to hook our reader into wanting to learn more about our artifact.

We have been doing center activities, small group and whole group work, and individual work as we discuss fractions, decimals, and percentages and how they relate to each other. We are building a strong conceptual understanding and students are finding benefts to using Place Value to help them understand decimals, especially.

As we wrap up the week, we will begin two new units next week: an inquiry into how we organize ourselves - Money and an investigation into Geometry called Seing Solids and Silhouettes. I can't wait to see what 3D drawings we will create. Enjoy the week!
