Volume 13: November 9, 2015

Another busy week for 4R! I huge "Thanks!" to the parents and families that came to our A Case of the Bad Stripes Grade 4 assembly. The students worked hard to create something meaningful to them and applicable to the community at large. Being a risk-taker, being brave, and having the courage to be who are you is important for us as learners and helps promote having an open-mind.

Besides our usual shenanigans, we experienced just how our bodies and minds work together to help us achieve fantastic feats - such as climb a rock wall! Students used their knowledge of different systems to identify how systems worked together to help them climb. Beginning next Tuesday each student will choose one body system to focus on and research in-depth. Their knowledge will be presented during our annual Grade 4 Health Fair for our unit's final project. More details to come soon... because you're invited!

As you know, Student-Led Conferences are Friday, 6 November. Students are excited to share what they've learned this year. This process allows students to reflect on their learning, behavior, and builds real-life skills for the future. It is important as it gives students' ownership over their own learning. You are the perfect audience for this growth! Enjoy the week!
