Volume 20: January 18, 2016

A rather brief blog post this week. We have STUCO sponsored "Crazy Hat" or "Crazy Hair" Day this Friday. Also, Dance Night this Friday for grades 2-5. Reports will be sent 29 January. When you receive them, please read and discuss them carefully with your child. It is an important discussion to have about the progress he/she is making and that you are aware of it.

We are finishing up our scripts for our Puppetpals for our migration unit. We are collecting data over time, like how many minutes each student reads each night. Students will choose the appropriate way to graph the data, like a line plot, bar graph, and more. Our read aloud, Esperanza Rising, continues to take us into a new world of how it feels to live the life of a migrant. We are learning a lot through the eyes of the main character, Esperanza, and how she is slowly changing and becoming more open-minded. Please ask your child about Esperanza. I am sure you will get an awesome story. Have a great week!
