Volume 21: 3 February 2017

A busy week of sharing our work for our final migration project. Next week, we continue to build our inquisitive minds with a new unit of inquiry - How the World Works! More to come, as the students will be creating our central idea, lines of inquiry, and activities they want to do to explore this theme.

Our probability unit will wrap up Monday and we will begin a new three week unit on how area and perimeter play an important role in our day-to-day lives. More to come later on this.

Book clubs continue to go well as students are sharing their summaries, questions, and interesting words with each other. During their discussions, students are using the text as evidence to support their thinking. This is a crucial skill that allows students to support their thinking, ideas, and debate with each other using facts from the text and our own lives.

One last note: StuCo (Student Council) is sponsoring a book fair. To do this, they need your used books. Please consider donating. It is fun and spreads the love and joy of reading. You can bring the books in Monday through Wednesday. Thanks, in advance, for your support! Enjoy the week!
